2. Shoot 40 percent or better from 3-point range

Beal’s shooting percentage from 3-point range took a slight hit during his sixth season in the NBA. He shot just 37.5 percent from 3-point land after shooting 40.4 percent in 2016-17. Surprisingly, Beal attempted 7.2 3-pointers during the 2016-17, significantly less than his 6.5 attempts during the 2017-18 season.

To get the Washington Wizards to the promised land, Beal will need to return to shooting 40 percent or better from 3-point range. He’s managed to shoot at least 40 percent from behind the arc in three of his six seasons in the NBA. He made less than 200 3-pointers last year (199 to be exact) after making a career-high 223 the season prior.

The slight dip can be attributed to Beal’s added responsibility of distributor, as he recorded a career-high 373 assists. With a healthy John Wall returning and the additions of Austin Rivers and Dwight Howard, Beal should be back to shooting 40 percent in no time.
