As Lauri Markkanen heads into his seond NBA season, he carries lofty expectations with him. Here are three goals for the Chicago Bulls forward in 2018-19.

It’s safe to say that Lauri Markkanen exceeded expectations as a rookie for the Chicago Bulls in 2017-18.

Selected seventh overall in the 2017 NBA Draft following the Jimmy Butler trade on draft night, Markkanen became an offensive focal point early in his rookie campaign. His continued development is key for the Chicago big man as he establishes himself as the Bulls’ franchise cornerstone.

As the 2018-19 NBA season nears, Markkanen should build upon his promising rookie season. After averaging 15.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on 43.4 percent shooting last season, the former Arizona Wildcat has barely scratched the surface. Markkanen’s potential has Bulls executives excited about his future in Chicago.

As opening night approaches, here are three goals for the 21-year-old from Finland.
