1. Can D’Angelo Russell take the ultimate leap?

Early on during his first season in Brooklyn, it looked as though D’Angelo Russell was finally living up to the potential that made him the second overall pick back in 2015, putting up 20.8 points, 5.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds a night through the first 12 games of the season.

Unfortunately, surgery to his left knee and the subsequent rehab process halted what could’ve possibly been an All-Star worthy campaign for Russell.

Since entering the league, D’Angelo has always been somone capable of greatness, but never quite had the consistency needed to put it all together.

For his career, Russell has averaged 18.9 points, 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds per 36 minutes, a sign that talent isn’t necessarily the issue.

Set to hit free agency in the summer, it would behoove Russell to finally turn his potential into production given the amount of money he could possibly earn.

If he can become the star many believe still lies within him, the Nets will likely be willing to bring him back as part of their long-term future. If not, he’ll have to prove himself once again, this time in a new city.
