While the playoffs are still too far out of reach, the Brooklyn Nets have questions to be answered before the 2018-19 season kicks off.

Ever since that infamous 2013 trade with the Boston Celtics, the Brooklyn Nets have been one of the laughingstocks of the NBA, a team without a direction and — thanks to said trade — a lack of purpose.

Recently though, something appears to be brewing in Brooklyn. The team has done a solid job of acquiring high-upside talent while head coach Kenny Atkinson has them playing competitive basketball on a nightly basis.

Coupled with over $70 million to spend next July and two first round picks in the 2019 NBA Draft, Brooklyn is slowly but surely digging its way out of a trade that set them way back in the development process.

Given how much more they still have to grow, the postseason may be a little too farfetched for the Nets even in the Eastern Conference, but with money to spend in the summer of 2019, it’s imperative they at least make progress on the court.

Having said that, nothing appears to be guaranteed on Brooklyn’s roster, raising with it questions about what this team can do during the upcoming season.
