3. Ben Simmons finds a jump shot

Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons is more than a little defensive about his lack of a jump shot.  The Advertiser, an Australian news site, posted a video recently of the Australian native complaining about the obsession over his shooting deficiencies.

"“If you look at guys who came in the league about the same time and can shoot the ball, but haven’t done any of the things I’ve done or anything close to it. It’s just funny that’s the one thing people pick out, just ’cause I don’t do it well,” said Simmons."

Well, yes, that’s true, but that one thing Simmons doesn’t do well is glaring. Ben Simmons attempted just eleven 3-pointers in the entire 2017-18 season and did not make one. To be fair, most of them were end of quarter heaves.

But the fact that he won’t shoot from 3-point range makes him susceptible to the defense playing back on him, daring him to shoot.

If he could fix it, the Rookie of the Year could jump to Most Valuable Player in record time. Furthermore, he could lead his team to the NBA Finals.

The good news is Simmons is aware of the problem and is working on it. Simmons has posted several videos over the summer showing his brand new jump shot.

Just this week, he posted two videos on his Instagram account reigning threes after on a turnaround, fade away jump shot.

After all, the best way t answer critics is to prove them wrong.
