Despite not making a splash move this summer, the Houston Rockets added several new pieces via free agency. Here’s a look at their offseason grades in 2018.

In a season that nearly played out in the form of a fairy tale, the Houston Rockets made their sixth consecutive postseason appearance last year, acquiring several new faces over the summer. Did the team that finished with the best record in basketball make all the right moves?

Here is Clutch City’s offseason grades for 2018.

Despite putting together a season for the ages last year, the Houston Rockets entered this offseason in arguably one of the toughest scenarios ever under general manager Daryl Morey.

Houston — which came into the summer with $77.5 million guaranteed to players on its roster — possessed little to no money to make any major acquisitions, as the Rockets were forced to join the luxury tax bracket to retain Chris Paul and Clint Capela, while adding additional components at the veteran’s minimum.

Now, Clutch City finds itself working relentlessly to make the most out of their high-priced roster, as the team that got within a game of the NBA Finals looks to run it back on a $136 million payroll in 2019.

Does the franchise who nearly knocked off the Golden State Warriors last postseason have enough to dethrone them this time around? Here’s a look at the Rockets offseason grades in 2018.
