The Boston Celtics have high expectations for the season. Realistically, what are the best-case, worst-case scenarios for the 2018-19 season?

The Boston Celtics have a bright future ahead of them and that says a lot about a team that made it to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics were without Kyrie Irving for a little bit of the season and Gordon Hayward for the entire season.

Both were out during the playoffs as well.

Then you mix in the fact that they’re one of the youngest teams in the NBA and it all becomes that much scarier. The two players that really highlight their young budding stars are Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Brown’s rookie year didn’t go as well as many had anticipated, but he followed that up with a great second season. As for Tatum, he was a Rookie of the Year candidate and probably would have won it if it weren’t for Donovan Mitchell and Ben Simmons standing in his way.

Regardless, if everyone can stay healthy, then the Celtics are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. With all the injuries they’ve had, it’s not hard to think that it could happen again this year.

The one team that looks to be at the top of their competition is the Philadelphia 76ers. Like the Celtics, the Sixers have a lot of young potential and a real shot at going to the NBA Finals. It’s possible that these two teams will be battling it out in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics are going to go as far as their talent will take them, but as low as the injuries will derail them. Which means there’s room for a best-case, worst-case scenario in Boston.
