2. Langston Galloway

Langston Galloway is heading into the second season of his three-year contract he signed last offseason. The combo guard earned his contract by shooting nearly 50 percent after a trade to the Sacramento Kings while possessing the athleticism to break down defenses to create space for shooters. Galloway is also a hound on defense. Championship teams always need deep guard rotations, and Galloway can help do that.

Similar to Jackson, Galloway’s stock is down after a regression last season. With a strong start, his value would instantly go up. At $7 million per year, he’s a little pricey based on last season’s numbers. However, based on the salary cap going up, he would be right on value with a bounce-back season this year. His hard-nosed defense would be greatly appreciated on a contending team, and he’s also buried on the current depth chart.

The Pistons’ guard rotation is swamped with players younger and better than Galloway. As the team looks to clear cap space for the future, he’d be a convenient casualty. Teams that are looking to contend are willing to sacrifice their future success for current gain. If the Pistons are able to find a trade partner that needs a defensive minded guard, they could get a semi-decent return as they build for their future.
