Charlotte Hornets: 5 reasons Miles Bridges was a good pick
1. Miles Bridges adds flexibility to the Hornets’ lineup
The Charlotte Hornets will finally have a player that can play a few different positions on the court rather than most players that have been pigeonholed into a role and that role only.
Frank Kaminksy was drafted to play a stretch forward role, but has still struggled in that aspect as a 3-point shooter and developing his mid-range jump shot. Malik Monk was supposed to be a perimeter shooter as well, but only hit 36.0 percent of his shots in limited playing time.
With Miles Bridges, the Hornets get a needed two-way player that should be able to both play and defend multiple positions. He has the strength to defend most power forwards and the quickness to guard an opposing wing player.
With the ability to score from multiple spots on the court, Bridges could play the 4 if the Hornets wanted to go with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nicolas Batum on the court, or he could play the 3 if they wanted to go with a big lineup in the frontcourt. Don’t be surprised if Bridges ends up pushing MKG for playing time as the season goes on, especially if he continues to disappoint on the offensive side of the ball.
