Charlotte Hornets: 5 reasons Miles Bridges was a good pick
3. Miles Bridges will score from anywhere on the court
Over his two seasons at Michigan State, Miles Bridges was an excellent shooter. He shot 47 percent from the field for his college career, including 37.5 percent from 3-point range. Granted, his freshman year was better than his sophomore year, but over two years he showed he had the range to hit shots all over the court.

We can dig further into his shot selection with his shot chart, courtesy of The Stepien. This shot chart includes all of his games from 2017-18 except for his 19-point performance against Michigan on Jan. 13 and his 31-point showing when visiting Illinois on Jan. 22. In those two games combined, he made 18 of his 27 field goals, including three of his nine 3-point attempts.
In the 32 games that were logged, there were 431 shots charted. Of the charted shots, 187 of them were 3-point attempts; 131 of the 3-point attempts would have been considered from NBA range. He hit 36.3 percent of all to the 3-pointers attempted, but with some work he could easily improve as a catch-and-shoot threat from downtown. Of the 61 3-pointers he made, 89.7 percent of those were 3-pointers he was assisted on.
Bridges’ two strongest areas of shooting come at the rim and in his long mid-range jumpers. When going to the rim, Miles made 64.4 percent of his attempted shots. His mid-range jumper is pretty good too; he attempted the third-most shots from the long mid-range zone and hit 42.7 percent of them, the second best zone of his shooting chart.
