1. Shoot at least league-average from deep

It may seem odd to place the most important goal for Crowder as something that 110 players achieved last season, but shooting around 36 percent from deep would certainly help take the Jazz to the next level.

Crowder is a career 34.2 percent shooter from beyond the arc, which isn’t terrible, but isn’t exactly great either. He hasn’t shot above league-average since the season before last, with the 2016-17 campaign being the only year he’s met that mark in his career.

Obviously it makes sense for a team to want to have as many capable 3-point shooters on its roster as possible, but Utah has bordered on being the exception in today’s NBA.

Last season, only one of Utah’s starters shot above league-average from 3-point land and that was Jinglin’ Joe Ingles. He’s known for his sharpshooting.

The 2017-18 campaign was Ricky Rubio‘s first year shooting above 35 percent from deep. Rudy Gobert has attempted three 3-pointers in his entire career (none this past season) and Favors holds a career 20.2 percent conversion rate in this department.

Mitchell shot a respectable 34.0 percent (which he figures to improve upon), but having a dependable 3-point shooter off the bench that can help space the floor when Ingles and/or Mitchell is off the court would go a long way.

Crowder will probably make a few spot starts next season, but look for him to pick his spots more carefully next season as he figures to be a key component as Utah looks to take the next step.
