3. Average at least 8.0 rebounds per game

Rebounding is one of the facets of the game that the 2018 Trail Blazers were incredibly strong at. Portland finished the year tied for third in the NBA with 45.5 boards per game. Aminu was a major reason for this, averaging 7.6 rebounds per game, second-most on the team. That was his highest rebounding average since the 7.7 per game he pulled down in his 2012-13 season with the New Orleans Hornets.

Aminu grabbed 10 or more rebounds 18 times last season. The Blazers will likely need more of this production in the upcoming campaign after losing backup big Ed Davis in free agency to the Brooklyn Nets. His loss cost the team 7.4 rebounds per game.

While players like Zach Collins, Meyers Leonard and Caleb Swanigan will absorb those open minutes, Aminu still serves as the starting power forward. Therefore, when he’s out on the floor, it will largely be his responsibility to continue hustling and bringing down the rebounds. If Aminu can crack the eight-rebounds-per-game-mark, Portland will likely maintain its standing as a top rebounding team in the league.
