The New Orleans Pelicans added a late piece in free agency with the addition of Jahlil Okafor. Here’s a look at how he’ll fit in next year.

The New Orleans Pelicans and big man Jahlil Okafor have come to terms on a partially guaranteed deal with a team option for the 2019-20 season. After making the postseason in 2018, the team has undergone a bit of a summer makeover with the losses of DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo.

Okafor is far removed from being the All-Rookie performer he once was back during the 2015-16 season. His time with the Philadelphia 76ers came to an end this past season when he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in December.

Okafor produced 14.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest after 105 appearances (81 starts) with Philadelphia. He earned First Team All-Rookie honors for his play in his first season, although it ended early due to a knee injury. Since then, he struggled to find his way back into the rotation for Philadelphia.

He will look to find his way back onto the hardwood with the Pelicans. He will have the likes of Anthony Davis and Julius Randle to help him along. Here’s a look at how Jahlil Okafor will fit in next year with the New Orleans Pelicans.
