Golden State Warriors: 3 goals for DeMarcus Cousins in 2018-19
It’s anyone’s guess what DeMarcus Cousins’ time with the Golden State Warriors will look like, but these goals give a guideline for his ideal 2018-19 NBA season.
No one could have predicted that DeMarcus Cousins would be signing with the Golden State Warriors when the 2018 NBA offseason began. And yet, here with are, waiting to see what one of the league’s best centers brings to the league’s best team.
At this moment, expectations for Cousins during his first (and probably only) year in the Bay Area are uncertain. Coming off a devastating Achilles injury, no one knows for sure how the big man’s body will respond. Can he return to his dominant ways, or will his unicorn-esque skill-set be noticeably diminished by the injury?
No one knows for sure, so all we can do at the moment is speculate. The rumors and Cousins’ own input seem to suggest he’ll be good to go soon, but anything can happen when he actually takes the court for the first time.
So for now, let’s focus on setting up some goals for Cousins. These goals will help guide the abrasive center through to the end of his recovery, and into what should be a big season for the Warriors. Chances are he’s probably already got his own set of goals, but these seem like solid options for him to have in mind as his rehab starts to wind down.
With that being said, here are Boogie’s three goals for the upcoming 2018-19 season. They’re all attainable if Cousins doesn’t suffer any setbacks, but that’s far from a given at this point.
