The Detroit Pistons head into the 2018-19 season looking to turn around their recent fortunes and answer some pressing questions.

A lot of unknowns surround the Detroit Pistons as the franchise embarks on a new era, beginning with the 2018-19 season.

There is a new head coach, new executive leadership, a new star player, a couple of new rookies, and a new landscape in the Eastern Conference in which the Pistons are trying to find their place.

Historically, the Pistons are one of the NBA’s most successful franchises. Only the Boston Celtics (17) and Chicago Bulls (six) have won more championships coming out of the East than the Pistons, who are tied with the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers at three titles each.

The last decade, however, has been one of consistent disappointment for the Pistons, with more lottery finishes than playoff appearances. If the glory days of Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace seem like a lifetime ago, then the dynasty led by Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars is basically ancient history.

There are a lot of open-ended questions facing the 2018-19 Pistons and their personnel, but the overarching themes are pretty simple for a team and a fanbase just looking to get a little respect back in Motown.
