How he fits

The Raptors will have a new look in 2018-19 with the addition of Kawhi Leonard and veteran sharpshooter Danny Green. Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas will both be back, as will Kyle Lowry and OG Anunoby. With the starting rotation pretty much set, that leaves Monroe playing the sixth man role.

Reports have stated Monroe is working on adding 3-pointers to his arsenal this offseason. It’s worth a shot considering he’d certainly give them an offensive spark off the bench, at least with his back to the basket. He will need to show he has the defensive ability to make the Raptors a consistent defensive squad. In 51 appearances last season, he posted a plus/minus of -10.3.

Since he can play both the power forward and center position, he should push both Ibaka and Pascal Siakam in the frontcourt, which is thin enough as is with a few key losses.
