The Toronto Raptors made a move late in the offseason, acquiring big man Greg Monroe in free agency. Here’s a look at how he’ll fit next year in Toronto.

Big man Greg Monroe took his time in free agency, finally deciding to sign with the Toronto Raptors. Monroe signed with Toronto on a one-year, $2.2 million deal so if things don’t work out, he could be back on the market.

He is entering his ninth season in the NBA and has bounced around quite a bit since beginning his career with the Detroit Pistons.

Since leaving the Pistons in the 2015 offseason, Monroe has appeared on three different teams. He spent three seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks before they traded him to the Phoenix Suns. The Raptors will be his fourth stop in the past two seasons as he looks to find his role in a rotation.

On paper, Monroe looks like a solid fit at 6’11”, with the ability to play both the center and power forward position. Toronto will be in an interesting position in the Eastern Conference with a new head coach (Nick Nurse) and the arrival of Kawhi Leonard. Here’s a look at how Greg Monroe will fit in next season with the Toronto Raptors.
