Cleveland Cavaliers: 3 available free agents the team should pursue
Even though the exciting part of the free agency period has ended, the Cleveland Cavaliers still have some work to do in order to fill out their roster.
This has not been the ideal summer for the Cleveland Cavaliers. First, came the departure of LeBron James, leaving the reins of the team in the hands of Kevin Love.
Then, the Cavs did not attempt to target any big-name free agents, mainly due to salary cap issues. It is no secret that players like J.R. Smith, George Hill and Tristan Thompson getting overpaid is hurting the team’s future.
Last but not least, the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted their last resort in Collin Sexton, as the preferred targets Trae Young and Wendell Carter Jr. were drafted before pick No. 8.
As a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers are stuck in mediocrity. In one summer, the ultimate goal went from “winning the NBA championship” to “making the playoffs in a weak Eastern Conference.”
It is still not too late, though, to target some veteran free agents in order to complete their rotation and surround their young talented guys with even more veteran presences.
Here are three available free agents the Cleveland Cavaliers could still target in the summer of 2018.
