Wild card lineup

  • PG: D.J. Augustin
  • SG: Terrence Ross
  • SF: Jonathan Isaac
  • PF: Aaron Gordon
  • C: Mohamed Bamba

This lineup isn’t that crazy or wild, because it could very well be a starting lineup next season. I fully expect Vucevic and Fournier to start day one at the shooting guard and center positions. However, with Bamba being the potential future of the Magic and Vucevic looking more and more like trade bait, this could change.

I also like the idea of Terrence Ross playing some starter’s minutes this season. It could very well happen early on if Clifford decides to work Isaac in slowly. Ross started 20 of his 24 games last season.

We could definitely see an Augustin-Fournier-Ross-Gordon-Vucevic lineup to start the year. Ross brings good defense, solid offense and experience to the first group. Having him and Simmons come off the bench would allow them to succeed against second units though.

This upcoming season, Gordon should be involved in a lot of different lineups. He will probably average the most minutes out of anyone and play with everyone on the 15-man roster at some point. Him and Bamba together will be a fun watch, since Gordon became much more apt at spreading the floor last season and he’s also a good passer for a big. The mix of defense and developing offense will be a common theme for the Orlando Magic’s lineups this year.
