Highlights

Thanks to being injured for most of the season, it was no feast, but mostly famine for Millsap when it came to loading the highlight reel. Through it all though, the 12-year veteran made the most of a bad situation during year one in Denver.

Facing off against one of the most electric players the NBA has produced in Russell Westbrook, Millsap went above and beyond on March 30 to lead his Denver Nuggets past the Oklahoma City Thunder in overtime, 126-125. After missing 44 games on the season, the centerpiece to boosting Denver’s playoff hopes showed why he was brought to the Mile High City.

Going 13-for-18 from the field to net 36 points on the night, Millsap was unstoppable at every turn and improved from a slow start due to the injury to his wrist early in the season. He was able to not only get teammates involved at points of this game, but he looked like the man who was brought in from the Hawks to propel this young squad to new heights.

The highlight plays were far from plentiful for Millsap in his first year in Denver, but if the hybrid point forward can withstand more injury woes in year two, then fans won’t’ be disappointed much longer and the first year will be a mere afterthought.
