Weaknesses

While shooting is a near and dear asset to have in today’s NBA, there is less and less room in the league for the dying part of “living and dying by the 3-ball.” Just like more and more players can dunk from the free throw line in 2018, more and more players are more consistent as 3-point specialists.

The disappearance of Bojan Bogdanovic will become a huge incentive to not play him (despite his healthy-sized contract) due to the signings of the versatile Tyreke Evans, as well as the acquisition of another hungry 3-point shooter in Doug McDermott.

With a significant amount of added depth threatening his playing time, Bogdanovic is in a position to drop the ball in the coming season, as he went for five or less points in seven contests this season.

Keep in mind, he was consistently getting big minutes and a wide open opportunity to prove he could score consistently. Add in two offensive flops in the seven-game series against Cleveland (in which he posted just eight and three points), and his streakiness goes from concerning to downright detrimental.

That aside, Bogdanovic’s stat card is generally vacant of dimes, blocks and with minimal rebounding (3.4 boards per game this season).

However, it’s worth noting that in reality, this is what he is capable of, and nobody thought that he’d turn into a shot-blocker in Indiana. So, it’s kind of hard to fault him for what he never touted himself as.
