The 2017-18 campaign was as unexpectedly successful for Croatian sharp-shooter Bojan Bogdanovic as it was for the Indiana Pacers.

When the Indiana Pacers acquired Bojan Bogdanovic last summer via free agency, the hope was he could just tread water as a catch-and-shoot presence on the perimeter for a squad that was going through a bit of an identity crisis.

It’s tough to lose a superstar like Paul George and move on with an expected second fiddle like Victor Oladipo, let alone build potential scoring options around the then-unproven product.

While Bojan Bogdanovic went through his share of slumps this season, overall it was very successful as he became more and more reliable as he learned the Pacers’ system. More importantly, he was proving himself to be worth his two-year, $21 million contract that he inked when he departed from his stint in Washington.

While he had a few postseason disappearing acts, including in a critical Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he registered a measly three points in 37 minutes, the truth is that with a vastly improved supporting cast in the offseason, Bogdanovic can earn his money being his own streaky self, and that should be just fine for his role in Indiana.
