Re-signing Derrick Rose

The Minnesota Timberwolves had more decisions on their mind than just the draft. Once free agency began on July 1, they had to make some moves. One of the first things they did was to re-sign point guard Derrick Rose to a one-year deal.

Rose started the 2017-18 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was later part of the trade madness in February. The Cavs traded him to the Utah Jazz (who waived him) and then Rose signed with the Wolves.

Rose didn’t have a large impact on the Wolves right away, but during the playoffs, he showed he can still play with the best of ’em.

During the five-game series against the Houston Rockets, Rose averaged a nice 14.2 points per game on over 50 percent shooting from the field.

With Jamal Crawford unlikely to re-sign, it was crucial for the Wolves to bring Rose back. They need his skill and experience off the bench if they want to win more games in the playoffs.
