2. Seth Curry

Seth Curry is 27 and going into his fifth season. He only played in six games his first two years and 114 his last two. Curry did not play at all in the 2017-18 season as he was recovering from having leg surgery.

The Blazers get him somewhat fresh and with a chip on his shoulder to show that belongs in the league like he was doing before the injury. This is going to be his third season playing and contributing in NBA games at a consistent rate.

He had his best year in the 2016-17 season while playing for the Dallas Mavericks. Curry averaged 12.8 points. 2.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 29 minutes per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Curry is an elite 3-point shooter and was arguably the Blazers’ best addition this summer. Portland let Napier walk in free agency and added Curry to fill its backup point guard role. He will be able to play next to either Lillard or McCollum when the other one goes to the bench.

Curry is capable of running the offense in the second or thirds units and making plays with the ball in his hands, but he might be deadlier playing off the ball and getting open for quick catch-and-shoot looks. It would not be surprising to see Curry play alongside McCollum and Lillard in a three-guard backcourt.

Curry should see at least 20-25 minutes a game this season for the Blazers and has a chance to be one of the primary offensive players. He will be coming off the bench for the Blazers, but is capable of stepping into a starting role if an injury is to occur.

Curry will be a Lou Williams, Eric Gordon or Jamal Crawford type guy for Portland this upcoming season and he could be in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year award if he puts it all together.
