4. Corey Brewer

After spending most of the 2017-18 campaign wasting away on the Los Angeles Lakers’ bench, Corey Brewer agreed to a buyout in order to join a playoff contender. He latched onto the Oklahoma City Thunder and spent the last 18 games of the season reviving his value.

In 54 games with the Lakers, Brewer posted a mere 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game, shooting 45.3 percent from the floor and an anemic 18.6 percent from downtown. In an admittedly small sample size in OKC, he bumped those numbers back up to 10.1 points and 3.4 boards in 28.6 minutes per game on .444/.343/.795 shooting splits.

Should Corey Brewer be playing nearly 30 minutes a night for an NBA team in 2018-19? No. But he still can be useful as an energetic wing off the bench for anyone that needs bodies. He never stood a chance in such a tight market, but he’s worth a look at this point in the free agency cycle.

Brewer is a notoriously poor 3-point shooter and he’s not a lockdown defender, but if he could just be passable in those areas, any team searching for some locker room experience and wing depth with one of its last roster spots should give him a call.
