If the Houston Rockets end up dealing anyone ahead of the 2019 NBA trade deadline, it’s bound to be one of the following three players.

Right now, the Houston Rockets have a pretty good roster in place. They’ve got a couple of stars, some quality role players, and an intriguing prospect or two to round out the bunch. Unfortunately, it may not be enough to overthrow the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference.

That’s why there’s a good chance a trade is made in the next few months. Leading up to the 2019 NBA trade deadline on Feb. 7, the Rockets will absolutely be looking to tinker with the current lineup. Heck, they already are if you believe the rumors that are working their way around the league at this moment.

You know general manager Daryl Morey isn’t going to sit on his hands and wait to fall just short again. No, he’s going to take the bull by the horns and lead this franchise down a more promising path. By that, I mean he’s going to do anything necessary to make this roster better than it is at this very moment. If that means moving pieces via trade, then so be it.

So, if a deal is to be struck, who goes? There are a number of candidates to consider, but I believe the three players I’m about to highlight have the best odds of being sent packing. For one reason or another, their days in Houston could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.

When a trade may occur is anyone’s guess. For the time being, let’s focus on who could be getting that dreaded call that they need to pack their bags, say their goodbyes and jump on a plane. It’s the NBA — these types of things happen in a big hurry when rings are on the line.
