Blake Griffin starts putting people on posters again

If the Pistons aren’t going to have a lot of games on national TV, they can make up for it by invading the nightly highlight shows and taking over social media timelines with GIF and meme-worthy moments.

The easiest way to do that is to dunk on people. Blake Griffin happens to be one of the all-time greats in that department.

Griffin will turn 30 years old this season. As he has accumulated injuries and seen his role change to more of a perimeter-based playmaking forward, he hasn’t taken as many opportunities in recent years to steal the souls of men who get between him and the rim.

But Griffin can still jump, he’s still strong, and while he may not play as straight-ahead aggressive and fearless as he used to, he’s still physically capable of doing damage like this sometimes:

If Griffin isn’t up to the task of putting the Pistons back on the map that way, perhaps free agent acquisition Glenn Robinson III can answer the call.

The 2017 Slam Dunk Contest winner missed most of last season with an ankle injury, but he’s presumably healthy now and he’s only 24 years old, so there’s probably a lot of spring left in those legs.
