4. Dec. 27 at Houston Rockets

Each time the Celtics get the chance to matchup against the Western Conference’s elite, it will be worth viewing. Just two days after battling the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day, Boston will travel to Houston to take on the reigning MVP James Harden and the Rockets.

Chris Paul vs. Kyrie Irving, James Harden vs. Gordon Hayward, and Al Horford vs. Clint Capela are just some of the mouth-watering battles we are set to witness at the Toyota Center on TNT.

Last season, both squads fell at the last hurdle in their quest to make the NBA Finals, with key injuries to their floor generals proving too much to overcome. Many are suggesting the Rockets will take a step back from their regular season dominance last season after losing Trevor Ariza and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute during free agency, but the Toyota Center has not been a happy hunting ground for Boston, which will be keen to notch a win against top-flight opposition.

The Celtics have lost six out of their last season games in Houston dating back to 2010, with the lone victory coming in November of 2016.

This contest will pit two of the modern generation’s elite point guards against each other in Irving and Paul. It will also test last season’s best defense in Boston, against the league’s second-best offense in Houston.

It’s the old classic meeting of the unstoppable force against the immovable object, and it should be a highly entertaining battle.
