The Philadelphia 76ers will return in 2018-19 as a contender for the Eastern Conference title. Here’s a look at the top 5 games on the schedule.

After the release of the 2018-19 regular season schedule, the Philadelphia 76ers finally have an overall outlook on their opponents for the upcoming season. The Sixers open the season Oct. 16 against Boston Celtics, in a game that is sure to be full of fireworks. The Celtics defeated Philadelphia in five games in the second round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, but experience is always a teacher in the league.

The Sixers return after posting 52 wins in 2017-18 and finishing third in the Eastern Conference. Their core of Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz is still roughly intact, although Fultz appeared in just 14 regular season games during his rookie season. On the other hand, he still managed to post a triple-double (13 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds) in the team’s final game of the 2017-18 regular season against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The talent is there for Philadelphia to succeed in the Eastern Conference. Training camp is right around the corner for teams across the league as preparation begins for another season. In 2018-19, new challenges await without LeBron James in the East.

The top spot is up for grabs, as even the Toronto Raptors made numerous moves after finishing 59-23 last year. Here’s a look at five games on the Philadelphia 76ers’ schedule to watch for in 2018-19.
