4. Nov. 1 at Boston Celtics

When the Bucks last took the court, it was in a losing effort to the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of their first round playoff series. Two weeks into the season, the Bucks will return to the site of that defeat when they fly to Beantown to take on the Celtics.

After exchanging home wins for each of the first six games of their series last April, Game 7 was in Boston. Whether it was fatigue, a lack of discipline or interim coach Joe Prunty’s poor game management, the contest slipped away from the Bucks and the injury-depleted Celtics ended up winning by 16 in a blowout.

This is not merely a revenge game, although the players will certainly be eager to return the favor to their conference rivals. This is also an important game for the standings as both teams look to make waves in a conference vacated by LeBron James.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the league’s brightest young stars, and Khris Middleton is a capable wingman. Yet the Boston Celtics are one of the only teams in the East that can match the Bucks in wing talent, with Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum all in line for major roles. Boston will come in the favorite, but Milwaukee will look to challenge that assumption come Nov. 1.
