5. Oct. 18, 2018: Opening night against Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers were the laughingstock of the NBA for several seasons. In the four years prior to the 2017-18 campaign, the Sixers produced a total of just 75 wins. This includes an abysmal 10-72 mark in 2015-16.

But thanks to what has become known as “The Process,” Philly is starting to reap the benefits of those painful seasons. Behind the formidable duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the Sixers earned a postseason berth for the first time since 2011-12, which was the year they defeated the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs.

Similar to what the Sixers have built, the Bulls are hoping the players they’ve acquired over the past two seasons will turn into the kind of difference-makers that will help them become perennial playoff contenders once again. This will be an early look at how the Bulls match up against the team they are trying to emulate.
