Brooklyn Nets: Complete 2018 offseason grades

Adding Treveon Graham
As seen through the previous slides, Sean Marks has made some great decisions this offseason that set the franchise up for future success. However, he finally made a questionable decision with the signing of Treveon Graham.
Graham and the Nets agreed to a two-year, $3.2 million contract. Spending the last two seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, he played in only 90 games, averaging roughly 14 minutes per game. His career averages of 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game are abysmal, though it’s a small sample size.
The decision to sign Graham seems to have been made simply to fill the final spot on the roster. However, Marks is known for bringing in players other teams have deem undesirable and turning them into viable NBA contributors. Joe Harris and Spencer Dinwiddie were both dumped by other teams before becoming productive players in Brooklyn.
Yet, the issue of playing time could possibly follow Graham from Charlotte to Brooklyn. At 6’5″, he’s similar in size to Allen Crabbe, Joe Harris, Caris LeVert, as well as the newly drafted Dzanan Musa and Rodions Kurucs.
Though he’s an efficient 3-point shooter, his rebounding is atrocious. According to Evan Dyal from At The Hive, “Graham only rebounds 10.4 percent of the opponents misses, which is well below average”.
With only the first year of the contract being fully guaranteed, Graham will need to find a way into the rotation. Otherwise, this time next summer he could once again be a free agent.
