Ranking the top 10 games of the 2018-19 NBA schedule
7. Nov. 16, 2018 — Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors (ESPN)
The Philadelphia 76ers belong in this conversation as well, but many believe that after the Kawhi Leonard trade, the Raptors — who were the No. 1 seed in the East last year — are the biggest obstacle to the Boston Celtics returning to the NBA Finals. One month into the 2018-19 season, we get our first litmus test for these two Eastern contenders.
Kyle Lowry and Kyrie Irving represent two of the premier point guards in the conference. Between Kawhi Leonard, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, OG Anunoby and Danny Green, the number of talented wings on the floor will be staggering. The matchups are fascinating across the board.
If not for that LeBron James-sized hump Toronto never could seem to get over, this would’ve been an enticing Eastern Conference Finals matchup last year. It very well could be what we see in 2019, so this first test for Toronto against a Boston side that will have its two best scorers back on the floor will definitely be a primetime showdown.
