Dwight Howard signs a one-and-one deal

The Washington Wizards will be a battle-tested squad before the 2018-19 season is over, especially with big man Dwight Howard on the roster. Howard signed a one-year deal with a player option on his second year, just one season after signing a multi-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets.

Howard’s stint with the Hornets lasted just one season before the team decided to trade him to the Brooklyn Nets for Timofey Mozgov. He wasn’t a member long before the Nets bought out his contract.

Since then, he’s joined the Wizards, after a five-word direct message on Instagram from John Wall. The potential looms for Wall and Howard to prove to be a solid pick-and-roll threat, but there’s a cloud of doubt at the same token because of potential locker room tension.

Howard still put up 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 assists per contest for the Hornets last season. Production isn’t the issue, winning is. He’ll have a chance to prove himself in 2018-19 as a member of the Washington Wizards.
