The Washington Wizards had quite the offseason as they looked to improve in the frontcourt. Here’s a look at their offseason grades.

The Washington Wizards didn’t spend the offseason on the sidelines this time around. After a rather quiet offseason in 2017, they made quite the splash, acquiring some depth in the backcourt and frontcourt, albeit at the expense of a veteran.

The Wizards and center Marcin Gortat mutually parted ways via trade, ending a five-year stint with the organization. The acquisition of Austin Rivers from the Los Angeles Clippers will pay dividends, but Gortat will be missed in the paint.

Washington got better in the 2018 NBA Draft, though, with the selection of Troy Brown Jr. at the 15th spot. Brown showcased some of his abilities in NBA Summer League. They also got a guard of the future in Issuf Sanon with the 44th pick.

The Wizards didn’t just get better in the draft, either. They used free agency to their advantage, acquiring a number of solid veterans and another big man with potential. Center Dwight Howard finds himself on another team for 2018-19, as does swingman Jeff Green, hoping to change their fortunes in the nation’s capital. Thomas Bryant also showed signs of potential in Summer League play after being acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Here’s a look at the complete offseason grades for every move the Washington Wizards made this summer.
