It’s never too early to look ahead to next season. The Chicago Bulls lost 55 games last season, but here’s why they’ll be better in 2018-19.

Last season, the Chicago Bulls were bad, and they were bad by design. The concept behind trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves was to press, maybe pound, the reset button on a franchise treading in mediocrity.

Even with a 27-55 record, last season was mostly successful mainly due to the drafting and development of Lauri Markkanen. Now, with Markkanen and rookie Wendell Carter Jr. on board, the future is looking brighter than it has in quite awhile.

With the expected development of Markkanen, the addition of Carter and Zach LaVine‘s continued recovery from an ACL injury, the Bulls should be improved this season. Throw in the additions of Jabari Parker and Chandler Hutchison and I’d be surprised if the Bulls aren’t much improved in 2018-19.

Let’s pump the breaks on predicting a playoff berth for Chicago next spring, at least for now, but let’s dive into why this should be a much improved team next season.
