Adding Kyle O’Quinn

Kyle O’Quinn joined elite New York Knicks company this season, becoming the first (and only) Knick to score 13 points, grab 12 boards and block three shots in three straight games since the legendary Patrick Ewing.

That stat shows just what O’Quinn was able to bring to the table in limited minutes. Granted, he may be just as limited in Indiana playing behind the likes of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner, but the truth is he is as effective as it gets. He has averaged a double-double per 36 minutes in six of his seven active seasons in the NBA.

For a one-year, $4.4 million contract, the Indiana Pacers couldn’t have done much better. O’Quinn is another veteran, but at just 28 years old, has a ton of energy to provide for this team in any role. He also posted a career-best assist average of 2.1 per game this season, adding him to a long list of versatile players on this Pacers roster. This is a big win.

Grade: A+
