The Portland Trail Blazers still have two spots open for two-way contract players. Who are some possible players they should consider signing?

We have entered the final stages of the NBA offseason, and it seems that the Portland Trail Blazers have solidified the 15-man roster they want to bring into the 2018-19 season.

However, in addition to stocking the main roster, the Blazers are also allowed to sign two more players to two-way contracts. Two-way contracts allow a player to move between the NBA (for up to 45 days) and G League. They are a good way help a prospect get acclimated to a team’s system while also getting professional-level game reps to develop their skills.

Locally, guard Wade Baldwin IV is a product of a two-way contract. He signed to one with Portland on Oct. 20, 2017 after being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies. Baldwin put in work during the season, allowing him to sign to a full-time, multi-year deal the following March.

C.J. Wilcox was Portland’s other two-way player, signing on in August of 2017. Unfortunately, he failed to appear in a NBA game during the 2017-18 season. His season got off to a late start as he recovered from a right knee arthroscopy. He returned in February and played 11 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Baldwin is now a full-time Blazer while Wilcox has recently signed a new two-way deal with the Indiana Pacers. This leaves both of Portland’s two-way contracts open for the taking. With so many guards on the roster, the Blazers should probably look to add prospects that can play either forward position. Who are five players that could potentially take up that mantle and turn it into a bigger role with the team?
