Denver Nuggets: Complete 2018 offseason grades

Re-signing Torrey Craig
As one of Denver’s two two-way players in 2017-18, Torrey Craig played a fairly significant role for the Nuggets.
Craig appeared in 39 games, logging over 16 minutes per contest. He wasn’t exactly good, but he was wing depth, and Denver needed wing depth desperately.
The Chandler trade magnified Denver’s need for wing depth, which led to a two-year, $4 million deal for the second-year wing.
Craig was a competent enough defender in his first year with the Nuggets, but offered nothing offensively, notably shooting 29.3 percent from behind the arc. If that persists, Craig’s not an NBA player, but Craig’s shooting is an odd phenomenon:
If Craig can find consistency from deep, he’ll outplay his contract.
If not, the Nuggets’ investment in him is minuscule. Craig has a shot to be NBA wing depth; locking him up made sense (it’s important to note that Craig will turn 28 during the 2018-19 season, so he is much, much older than the typical second-year player).
