26. Antawn Jamison

Stats: 336 GP, 20.2 PPG, 1.8 APG, 7.5 RPG, 45.4 FG%

The Toronto Raptors drafted Antawn Jamison with the fourth overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft. However, Jamison was traded before he could play a game for Toronto, being sent to the Golden State Warriors in return for Vince Carter and cash.

Obviously, it hurts that the Warriors ended up with Jamison instead of Carter. But Jamison wasn’t a disappointment. He balled out his first season and was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. Jamison played five seasons in Golden State and was a very productive player. In his time there, Jamison proved himself as a capable offensive weapon. In the 2000-01 season, he averaged a career-high 24.9 points per game and shot 44.7 percent from the floor.

Unfortunately, Jamison’s contributions never turned into wins. For his first four years, the Warriors did not have a single season with over 22 wins. This wasn’t all Jamison’s fault, as the roster that surrounded him provided zero help. Nevertheless, his impact with the Warriors was limited because of the team’s lack of success.

In 2004, Jamison was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, where he won the Sixth Man of the Year award. After playing only one season in Dallas, he ended up on the Washington Wizards. During his time in Washington, Jamison became a two-time All-Star and was one of the best players in the league.
