9. Tim Hardaway

Stats: 422 GP, 20.5 PPG, 9.6 APG, 2.0 SPG, 45.8 FG%

Tim Hardaway was the original creator of the crossover. His tight handle made him one of the deadliest playmakers in NBA history. He was a threat at all times on the offensive end.

Hardaway began his career with the Golden State Warriors. As a rookie, he was already showing flashes of brilliance as a court general. Hardaway’s unique ability to push the tempo of the game was reminiscent of Magic Johnson.

Led by Hardaway, the Warriors began to play “run and gun” basketball. This meant they would run on the fast break at every opportunity and look for quick shots. The combination of Hardway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin proved to be killer in the open court. These three became so great they earned the nickname “Run-TMC.”

Hardaway’s career with the Warriors lasted only five seasons. In this time, he made it to three All-Star games and was selected to two All-NBA teams. Hardaway ended his career with the most assists per game in franchise history. He also finished third in total assists with the Warriors.
