5. Improve free throw shooting

Although Carter spent most of his lone collegiate season playing in the shadow of teammate Marvin Bagley III, he showed that he could be productive. Not only does Carter finish well around the rim, he is also a good low-post scorer as well.

With the ability to play with this back to the basket and face up against opposing bigs, Carter will more than likely find himself at the free throw line quite a bit. Normally, this would be a positive.

However, after shooting 73.8 percent from the free throw line at Duke, Carter converted just 69.6 of his attempts from the charity stripe during the Summer League tournament. On the surface, being a good free throw shooter may not seem a like a big deal.

At the same time, if Carter doesn’t shoot them at a respectable clip, he may become a liability for the Bulls in the latter stages of games. To be honest, I have no doubt he will improve in this area, but it is something worth noting for the time being.
