The Chicago Bulls took Wendell Carter Jr. with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Here’s a look at five goals for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

The Chicago Bulls finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 27-55 record. If not for a December stretch in which they went 10-6, their win total would have been lower.

This was to be expected considering it was the first year of the team’s rebuild. If the Bulls had any hopes of avoiding another season similar to the one we just watched, they would have to acquire quality talent during the offseason.

The first step in the process was selecting Wendell Carter Jr. from Duke with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. In the eyes of some of the local media, Carter was considered a safe pick, meaning that he has the potential to be a solid role player, but perhaps doesn’t have the kind of ceiling that will help the Bulls reach the next level, so to speak.

Ironically, the Bulls acquired the No. 7 pick in last year’s draft too, which turned out to be Lauri Markkanen. It is no secret that Markkanen exceeded expectations across the board en route to earning an All-Rookie First Team selection.

If Carter hopes to be a difference-maker in his own right, here are five goals he will need to focus on for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
