Signing LeBron James

The Lakers finally caught the big one.

After several years of disappointing free agent pitches, wasting cap space on players who don’t even play, and losing — lots of losing — the Lakers are back.

LeBron James defied the odds by willing the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals last season. Now he faces the challenge of shaping the Lakers’ young core into a playoff team and a future title contender.

If there’s one player in NBA history who can turn a team around, it’s the King.

James is entering his 16th season, but hasn’t shown signs of slowing down. As a matter of fact, he posted career-highs in triple-doubles, rebounds and assists last season.

The Lakers are itching to get back to their winning ways, and now with No. 23 in town, victories are just around the corner.
