3. Blake Griffin becomes an All-Star again

It’s been three years since Griffin was named to the All-Star team. When looking back at his career, Griffin has bounced back and forth every season from good to bad. Last season, he regressed some due to injury and changing systems. This year, he’ll be healthy and playing under Casey, who is one of the NBA’s best coaches. Fans and analysts alike have been clamoring to see what Griffin can do this season.

Griffin has shown an increased ability to run offenses as the point man. His assists per game have gradually increased during his career. While with the Pistons last season, he averaged 6.2 a night in that limited sample size. When looking at his total average from last season, he finished with 5.8 assists per game, which was still 0.5 more than Reggie Jackson. With Casey pulling the strings, Griffin will be given even more control of the offense, and he should flourish.

While Griffin may not be a starter for the All-Star game, he should certainly contend for a reserve spot. The Eastern Conference continues to lose talent as players head West. Griffin, despite not as athletic as he once was, has added new wrinkles to his game as he’s gotten older. He has the ability to have the best season of his career. If Blake Griffin is able to remain healthy, the Pistons will have at least one representative at All-Star weekend.
