Strengths

Otto Porter Jr. was one of the best 3-point shooters on the Washington Wizards’ roster in 2017-18. He finished second on the team in total points (1,134), eclipsing the 1,000-point mark for the second consecutive season. He ranked second on the team in 3-point field goal percentage after shooting career-high 44.1 percent from the floor.

Porter also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 50.1 percent from the field. As a reliable source of offense, Porter has fit in well as Washington’s third option on offense. He was right behind Bradley Beal in 3-pointers made per game, averaging 1.8 in 2017-18.

Porter made seven 3-pointers on two separate occasions last season.  He made seven 3-pointers back on Oct. 27 in 120-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Then on Dec. 29, he went 7-of-11 (63.6 percent) from behind the arc against the Houston Rockets in a 121-103 victory. Both are new career-high marks for Porter.

Heading into a new season, the Washington Wizards will need to stay healthy to improve their positioning in the East.
