Christian Wood

Where Robinson represents the past, Christian Wood could represent the future.

Wood’s NBA pedigree is lacking to this point in his career, with just 30 games played to his name. He’s averaged just 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in his career.

Robinson was exiled from the NBA to international waters, but Wood couldn’t even stick there last season; the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association waived him before their season began.

Still, he swallowed his pride and toiled away with the Delaware Blue Coats in the G League, developing into one of the league’s best players. He averaged 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, even making more than one 3-point basket a game.

Wood continued his development over the summer, where he showcased himself as one of the best players in Las Vegas. The 6’10” forward averaged 20.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game while suiting up for the Milwaukee Bucks’ Summer League squad.

The league even named him to their All-Summer League First Team.

It feels like the 22-year-old is on the precipice of breaking through after his performances over the past calendar year. Yet the Bucks haven’t seized on the opportunity to bring in someone familiar.

The Raptors could correct that mistake.
