Toronto Raptors: Evaluating Thomas Robinson vs. Christian Wood
The Toronto Raptors reportedly worked out both Thomas Robinson and Christian Wood. Who would be the better fit for a final roster spot?
Apparently, signing Chris Boucher and reportedly considering Greg Monroe wasn’t enough to appease the Toronto Raptors‘ desire to sign big men.
On Monday, Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype reported that the team worked out two more big men: Thomas Robinson and Christian Wood.
That news comes on the heels of the team’s reported interest in Monroe, as first reported by Josh Lewenberg of TSN.
It also comes about a week after the team signed Boucher — he of one game of NBA experience — to a training camp deal.
The Raptors only have a couple of open spots left on their roster and they’ve made it clear they’re looking for a big man. Their depth in the frontcourt is shallower than a season ago, when Jakob Poetl was still part of the roster.
Of course, Poetl is in San Antonio now, while the Raptors are preparing for their first run to the NBA Finals.
There’s no reason for the Raptors to invest in both Robinson and Wood, two players who will present similarly on the court. Which one should they pursue?
Let’s take a look at both.
