The Sacramento Kings have to improve in three specific areas to be more competitive in the 2018-19 NBA season.

The Sacramento Kings have disappointed a loyal fanbase for 12 consecutive seasons. Every year the team makes some offseason moves and gives fans some hope, but the end result turns out to be despair. Big names come and go, but the bleeding never stops.

Every year the team preaches patience, but that patience never pays off. No matter how much optimism there is at the start of the season, darkness takes over quickly.

By December, it becomes clear that another losing season is inevitable. By the time the All-Star break rolls around, Kings fans are already fully engaged in mock drafts. Then the tank watch officially kicks off around March.

So what do the Kings have to do to make the upcoming season different? How can this team finally turn optimism into results? Honestly, there might be a thousand ways to answer those questions. After all, this is a team that has holes in all kinds of places.

For starters, however, the Kings can finally take a step in the right direction if they can accomplish the following three tasks in the upcoming season.
