3. One-dimensional player

In four seasons in the league, Stauskas has not shown to be much more than a 3-point shooter. He came out of college as an elite scorer with the ball in his hands and just as deadly off the ball. That has not translated for him yet in the NBA.

He is not super athletic or quick and struggles to create space against defenders and get to the basket. Stauskas also has a hard time on the defensive end, either in one-on-one situations or staying with his man off the ball.

He is really only effective playing off the ball in spot-up situations for catch-and-shoot 3-point shots. For his career, he is a 34.9 percent 3-point shooter. Stauskas has not shown to be a playmaker with the ball in his hands so far in the league, and that has been one of the primary reasons for his lack of success.

The Blazers did need 3-point shooters, and he does that well. Besides that though, Stauskas does not offer much else on either end of the court.
